Slice of Life Tuesday: Early Spring!

Slice of Life Small LogoI can’t complain; this is a mild winter and since I dislike snow, I don’t miss the white covering on the ground. The temperatures are consistently above freezing, so I don’t slip on the ice or have to drive on treacherous streets. This morning I heard some great news that further brightened my mid-winter mood: The groundhog did NOT see his shadow.

Now, I’m old enough to know that rodents can’t actually predict the weather, but I enjoy following the story each year of Punxsutawney Phil and how he is pulled from his home in the ground each February 2nd to decide if we will experience an early spring or not.

Dare I say it now? Happy Spring, everyone!

  1. I’m a little skeptical of rodents and predictions, but it was nice to wear sweatshirts today! Here’s to another few weeks of clear forecasts!

  2. I wrote about Punxutawney Phil, too! I AM a fan of snow, but since we’re not getting any, we might as well have spring!

  3. I celebrate Groundhog Day too, & it is predicted-early spring! But, we had about a foot of snow on most of the state over these past few days. Snow Days for everyone! We’ve had lots of warm days too, a strange winter. Hoping for you, Jennifer.

  4. Could we be so lucky? I worry that Mother Nature will remind us it is still winter.

  5. We’ve had our snow day. I’m excited for an early spring. 🙂 It has been fairly mild where I am as well. The weather was so odd over Christmas. One day we were looking at flood waters, the next day we were taking pictures of several inches of snow. So bizarre. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for spring-like weather soon!
